Cecilia Gaspard Darbonne passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at the age of 71. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More. Father Steven Ugwu will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Cecilia is survived by her husband, Joseph Wilfred Darbonne; four sons, James Dolan Darbonne and wife Cheryl of Eunice, John Quint Darbonne and wife Bessie of Durald, Malcolm Darbonne and wife Carolyn of Eunice, and Andrew Darbonne and wife Pam of Eunice; two daughters, Gwen D. Mead and husband Brian of Vinton and Lisa D. Allen of South Haven, Mississippi; five brothers, James Gaspard of Eunice, Wilbur Gaspard of Church Point, Kenneth Gaspard of Jonesboro, David Gaspard of Eunice, and Ray Gaspard of Eunice; four sisters, Janet Gaspard of Eunice, Martha Depriul of Eunice, Margaret Dunbar of Opelousas, and Debra Knight of Ragley; seventeen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Gaspard and Marie Courville Gaspard; two brothers, Greg Gaspard and Valentine Gaspard; and one grandson, Dustin Darbonne. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon David Guillory. The funeral home will reopen Thursday at 8:00 a.m. for visitation until the time of service. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
