Carrie Jean Primeaux Johnson

Carrie Jean Primeaux Johnson, 84, passed away on September 19, 2026. Born on April 16, 1942, she lived a life centered on family, familiar traditions, and simple joys that brought people together.

Carrie enjoyed fishing and listening to KVPI radio, and she was known for embracing the holiday season with enthusiasm, often going all out with decorations. She especially looked forward to cooking for her family during the holidays, creating the kind of gatherings that became treasured memories for those she loved. One of her favorite places to spend time with family was Holly Beach, and she looked forward to going every summer. More than anything, she cherished time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her family was the heart of her life. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Johnson and his wife, Christen, and Carl Johnson; and by her daughters, Donna Johnson Richard, Lori Johnson, Jolene Johnson, and Yvette Johnson. She also leaves behind her twelve grandchildren, Colton, Michael, Justin, Jessica, Erica, Eric, Tyler, Matthew, Trey, Ronald, Elizabeth, and Kimberly, as well as eighteen great-grandchildren. Their lives were enriched by her love, her presence, and the care she gave so freely across generations.

Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Johnson; her father, Blaze Primeaux; her mother, Emily Fontenot Primeaux; and her daughter-in-law, Sabrina Johnson. Her family finds comfort in the memory that she passed away on her late husband’s birthday and is now reunited with him.

Visitation will be held on September 22, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home at which time a rosary will be prayed by Deacon Gary Gaudin, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., also officiated by Deacon Gary Gaudin. Burial will follow at Guillory Cemetery on Soileau Road in Eunice.

Pallbears are Justin Canales, Eric Richard, Trey Mosbroker, Ronald Mosbroker and Silton Thibodeaux Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Carl Johnson, Tyler Thibodeaux, Matthew Johnson, Colton Johnson and Michael Johnson.

Carrie Jean Primeaux Johnson will be remembered with love for the warmth she brought to family gatherings, the joy she found in traditions, and the lasting bond she shared with those closest to her. Her memory will continue to live on in the family she cherished so deeply.
