Carolyn Bennett, age 79, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, honesty, and unforgettable spirit. To know Carolyn was to know a woman who lived boldly — a firecracker with a free soul, a sharp wit, and a heart that held her people fiercely close. She called things exactly as she saw them, never sugarcoating, always honest, always real. She was one you simply couldn’t forget.
No Services have been planned at this time.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother, Carolyn filled every role with her own special spark. Her laughter, her stubborn streak, and her ability to speak truth without hesitation made her the kind of woman whose presence stayed with you long after she left the room.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Elliott and Katherine Goss Elliott, and by her husband, Kenneth Bennett.
She is survived by her loving companion, John Ware; her daughter, Natalie Duplechain (Brent); her grandchildren, Danielle Fruge (Donovan), Bryce Babineaux (Chelse), Blair Duplechain, and Drew Duplechain; and her great‑grandchildren, Noah Bergeaux, Breanna Fruge, Braelyn Fruge, Dominick Fruge, Lillian Fruge, Arabelle Babineaux, Archie Babineaux, and Hope Duplechain. Carolyn also leaves behind her brother, William Elliott.
Her family will forever remember her fire, her humor, her honesty, and the deep love she carried for each of them. Carolyn lived life on her own terms, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.
