Carol Rita Manuel Jones passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the age of 81. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Father Kennon Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at St Augustine Cemetery in Basile. At the request of family, visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Basile, with a Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM by Deacon Gary Gaudin. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM Thursday until time of Services. Carol is survived by her husband, Paul Jones; three sons, Jason Sonnier and wife Kimberly, Damian Sonnier and fiancé Serly Diaz, Reginald Sonnier; one daughter, Judith S Rougeau and companion Wendell Manuel; one brother, Hayward Manuel; two sisters, Mura Nell Guidry, Debra Fontenot; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marius Manuel and Eola Bushnell Manuel; two sons, Donald Ray, Kenneth Sonnier; her first husband, Julius Sonnier.
