Brandi Lynette Janise Goodner, born on September 4, 1974, in Eunice, La, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, June 13, 2026. With a heart as expansive as her passions, Brandi’s life was a tapestry of love, creativity, and kindness that touched all who knew her.
Early in her journey, Brandi worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), dedicating time to care for others with gentle hands and a compassionate spirit. This brief chapter in her career reflected the deep well of empathy she carried throughout her life.
Brandi’s affection for the world around her extended far beyond her profession. She was an ardent animal lover, cherishing her faithful dog Bubba, who remained a steadfast companion throughout her courageous battle with cancer. Her devotion also embraced her beloved cats, endearingly named “Momma Cat” and “MoMo,” who brought warmth and comfort to her home.
She delighted in drawing and painting, weaving her emotions into colorful expressions that echoed her soul. Thrift shopping was another cherished pastime—not just for herself but as a means to give generously to others. Always a giver, Brandi found joy in surprising loved ones with thoughtful gifts discovered during her excursions.
At the core of her joy was a boundless love for children, a sentiment remembered fondly by many. Her spirit was nourished by the precious bonds she held with her family, especially her daughter, Avenlea Michelle Abshire, and her radiant granddaughter, Amelia Kate Abshire, who were constant sources of pride and happiness.
Brandi is survived by her loving mother, Sharon Martel Janise; her brothers: Clayton James Janise and his wife Allison, Wesley Blake Janise and his wife Desiree, David Andrew Janise and his wife Bethany, and Troy Dalfrey, Jr.; as well as her nephews, Collin Janise (Melanie), Isaac Janise, Levi Janise, Payton Janise, Gaege Janise, Bentley Janise, Gavin Janise, Jode Janise, Jordan Cazayoux, and Wyatt Dalfrey; her nieces, Kyla Melancon (John), Andria Janise, Aubrie Edelkind (Sage), and Zoe Cazayoux. Her family circle further extends to great-nephews, Warren Edelkind and Bradley Melancon; and great-nieces, Joy Melancon and Annmarie Janise, each carrying a piece of her gentle legacy with them.
She joins her father, Clayton Janise; brother, Lonnie Ray Janise; paternal grandparents, Exile and Delia LeJeune Janise; and maternal grandparents, Aubrie and Ethel Sylvester Martel, who await her in eternal peace.
A private viewing for immediate family will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home.
A visitation to honor Brandi’s life will follow from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home, located at 121 S. 6th St., Eunice, LA 70535. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life that was a beacon of love, compassion, and creativity.
A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Brother Robert Kratzer will officiate.
Cremation will follow the service.
Brandi Lynette Janise Goodner’s journey may have concluded, but the imprint of her kindness, the warmth of her smiles, and the beauty of her artistic spirit will forever brighten the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
