With grateful hearts for a life well lived and deep sorrow at her passing, we celebrate the life of Bonita “Bonnie” Duplechain Bradley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and most importantly a faithful servant of God. Bonnie was born on January 3, 1935, and went to be with her Savior on March 4, 2026, at the age of 91.
A devoted Christian woman, Bonnie loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her faith daily through kindness, generosity, and unwavering trust in God. Her life was a testament to grace, humility, and steadfast prayer. She found great joy in reading her Bible, attending worship, and serving faithfully as a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Eunice. Whether teaching Sunday School, volunteering, preparing meals for senior adult luncheons, or offering a listening ear, she quietly touched countless lives. Throughout her years, Bonnie also served as a secretary for LSUE for 20+ years.
Family was Bonnie’s greatest earthly blessing. She was a loving and devoted mother whose wisdom and encouragement shaped generations. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Nothing brought her more happiness than gathering her family together, celebrating milestones, sharing stories, and wrapping each one in her warm embrace. She prayed for each of them by name, delighted in sharing her faith with them, and loved watching her family grow.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm smile, and the way she made everyone feel welcomed and cherished. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives on in the faith she instilled, the values she modeled, and the love she so freely gave.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Robin Smith and her husband David; her brother, John Duplechain and his wife, Jan; five grandchildren: Samuel Smith (Maddie), Amanda Martinez (Jason), Caleb Smith (Diana), Nicole Bradley, and Joshua Bradley; as well as five great-grandchildren: Colt, Braylyn, Madison, Greyson, and Liam.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carrol Bradley; her son, Stephen Bradley; her parents, Thanes Duplechain and Bertha Hargroder Duplechain; two brothers, Harold Duplechain and Stagg Duplechain; her sister, Tracy Fruge; her grandchild, Jason Bradley; and her great-grandchild, Lily Smith.
Bonnie’s home-going celebration will be held on March 7, 2026, at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Eunice, located at 331 Park Avenue, Eunice, LA 70535, with visitation held at the church from noon until time of service at 2:00pm. Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Reverend Tom McManus to officiate.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior. Her memory will forever be a blessing.
