Bessie M. Young passed away on Friday April 26, 2013 at the age of 87. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday April 29, 2013 at 2:30 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Monsignor Robert Romero will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Bessie is survived by one daughter, Shelia Young Frey; three sons, Milo Young and wife Patricia of Grand Isles, LA, Oleus Young and wife Pamela of Pennsylvania, Wayne Young and wife Mary of Jay, FL; two sisters, Doris Daire and Dora Bertrand; one brother, Charles "Boozie" Miller of Eunice; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Lydia Picard Miller; her husband, Oleus Sam Young; two sisters, Lena Cormier and Pearl Hoffman; two brothers, Carrol Miller and J.D. Miller. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Sunday April 28, 2013 at 10 AM to 10 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed by Monsignor Robert Romero at 7:30 PM that evening. The funeral home will reopen at 8 AM Monday morning for visitation until time of service. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
