Bernie Ray Clayton passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the age of 82.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 1:00 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. Brother Alvin Ogea will officiate. Burial will follow at Maxie Methodist Cemetery in Maxie.

Bernie is survived by three nephews, Alvin Travis Milner and wife Cheryl of Maine, James "Jim" Milner and wife Janine of Lake Charles, and Joey Ovemyer and wife Linda of Lake Charles; three nieces, Margaret Fontenot and husband Roy of Ville Platte, Rebecca M. Frey and husband Clint of Church Point, and Sandra M. Fruge and husband Brent of Eunice.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, William Paren Clayton and Priner Lee Amy Clayton; one brother, Melvin Paren Clayton; two sisters, Audrey Lee Clayton Milner and Mildred Jane Ovemyer; and one nephew, Paul Ovemyer.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014, from 5 PM to 10 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. The funeral home will reopen at 8 AM Saturday for visitation until time of service.
