Berckman Fontenot passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the age of 85. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 10 AM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. Father D. Blaine Clement will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.

Berckman is survived by three daughters, Sandra Marie Fontenot of Pensacola Beach, FL, Sherry Ann Daville of Rayne, LA, and Billie Jo Stanley & husband Rodney of Panama, Beach, FL; one brother, Horace Fontenot of Eunice, LA; two sisters, Lucy Meaux of Austin, TX, and Mary Lou Guillory of Eunice, LA; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Berckman was preceded in death by his parents, Dovic Fontenot and Alma Smith Fontenot; his first wife, Rose Mae Brasseaux Fontenot; his second wife, Alice Charles Fontenot; two brothers, Henry Fontenot and Norris "Boy Boy" Fontenot; one sister, Mary Jane Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, from 1 PM to 8 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed on Wednesday, at 6 PM by Father D. Blaine Clement. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday at 8 AM for visitation until time of service.
