A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at 3:30 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home for Archie Roy Manuel, 85, who died on Friday, March 9, 2012. Pastor Dennis Gotreaux will conduct the service. Archie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Pearl Veillon Manuel of Eunice; three sons, Bradley Manuel and wife Mary of Mamou, Joseph Manuel, Sr. & Cheryl of Eunice and Mitchell Manuel & wife Cindy of Breaux Bridge; three daughters, Phyllis Manuel Bergeron & husband Gerald of Eunice, Stephanie Manuel Reed & husband Greg of Eunice, and Renee' Manuel & Mark Prather of Church Point; daughter-in-law, Berna Dean Boone Manuel of Mamou. 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren Archie was preceded in death by his father and mother, Willard and Martha Hargroder Manuel; a son Bradford Manuel I, granddaughter, Toby Manuel, grandson, Bradford Manuel II and daughter-in-law, Dana Sue Fontenot Manuel. Archie was a retired farmer from the Durald community. He served as a board member of the Tri Parish Rice Drier Association as well as a board member of the Evangeline Parish Drainage Board. Archie was a third degree Knights of Columbus member of Council # 9935. He was a dedicated listener of the French news on the KVPI radio station.
