Annie Johnwell James passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the age of 75.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou. Fr. Alphonse Thainese will officiate. Entombment will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Lake Charles.

Annie is survived by her husband, Whitney James, Sr. of Mamou, LA; three sons, Daniel James of Mamou, LA, Whitney James, Jr. and wife Sherada of Eunice, LA, and Patrick James and wife Demetria of Katy, TX; one daughter, Lisa Warren of Cedar Hill, TX; one brother, Clifton Johnwell of California; three sisters, Camile F. Soileau of Mamou, LA, Irene Ceasar of Lake Charles, LA, and Laura Arceneaux of Houston, TX; nineteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Comeluis Johnwell and Ozia P. Johnwell; one brother, Cleveland Fontenot; and three sisters, Ethel Johnwell, Eva Fontenot, and Tellie Mae Johnwell.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held Friday, March 27, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday at 8 a.m. for visitation until the time of service.
