Anna Lee Michaud Fruge, age 76, departed this life on June 5, 2026, at Acadian Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy woven from the threads of love, family, and cherished memories. Her journey through life was marked by a profound devotion to those she held most dear, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly the heart and soul of her existence.
A daughter of Pierre Paul Michaud and Emilie Stelly Michaud, Anna's familial roots ran deep, grounding her in values of kinship and resilience. Though she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Arthur Gene Fruge, and surrounded again by those who went before her—her parents, as well as her brothers Leroy Michaud, Leo Michaud, George Michaud, and sisters Geraldine Trahan and Levoy Mouton—the warmth of her spirit continues to illuminate the lives of those she touched.
Survived by a loving family who carry forward her memory, Anna leaves her son, David Blanchard, and his wife, Jamie; her daughter, Angie Owen; two brothers, John Ben Michaud and his wife June, and Kenneth Michaud; as well as her sister, Mary Dugas. The blossoming branches of her family tree include five grandchildren: David Drake Blanchard (Melissa), Tanner Job Blanchard (Brittany), Matthew Edward Owen (Kyla), Ashton Seth Blanchard (Katelyn), and Justus Cade Blanchard (K.G). Her joy extended into the next generation, embraced by five great-grandchildren: Liam Ross Blanchard, Harlie Reigh Owen, Joshua Leancy Owen, Lincoln Hayes Blanchard, and Eleanor Rose Blanchard.
On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, those who cherished Anna will gather at Quirk & Son Funeral Home, located at 121 S.6th St. in Eunice, La, to celebrate her life. The visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 1:00 p.m., when the funeral service will commence, allowing the family, friends, and community to honor her memory and reflect on a life so beautifully lived. Pastor Woody Gunnels will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery.
Anna Lee Michaud Fruge’s story is one of unwavering devotion and enduring love. Through the laughter and quiet moments shared with her descendants, her spirit lives on, echoing in the stories told and the hearts forever changed.
