Ambrose Meche passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the age of 82. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Duralde with Father Blaine Clement Celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Augustine Mausoleum in Basile. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Thursday, June 8, 2023 with a Rosary at 6:00 PM by Joan Fontenot. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Friday until time of departure for Services. Ambrose is survived by his wife, Carol Fontenot Meche; two sons, Frank Joseph Meche and wife Rebecca, Michael Louis Ortego and wife Sunshine; three daughters, Melissa Deboer and husband, Sjoerd, Linda Faye Meche, Nicole Clavier; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Ada Thibodeaux Meche; brother, Clarence Meche; sister, Rita Meche; granddaughter, Azalie Nicole Meche; grandson, Austin Mathew LeBouef.
