Alma Deshotel Tate, age 81, of Eunice, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on September 8,1944, Alma was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her two children, Brydie Tate Manuel (Neil) and Michael Tate (Renee); and five grandchildren, Ellen Manuel Jester (Jacob), Seth Tate (Mykaela), Lauren Manuel, Sarah Tate Roberts (Tommy), and Averie Manuel. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Shelton Tate; her parents, Gladwin and Nola Miller Deshotel; and her siblings, Roland Miller, Dillon Johnson, Lorraine Johnson, Diana Deshotel Myers, Timothy Deshotel, and Darrel Deshotel. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of the Baton Rouge St. Joseph's Carpenter House for their support and compassion throughout her stay. They went above and beyond when caring for her, as well as all of her family members.
