Alice Weurdig, 96, of Whitney, passed away January 26, 2015 at a local nursing home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Marshall and Marshal Funeral Directors in Whitney. Entombment will be at St. Augustine Mausoleum in Basile, Louisiana.

Alice was born on January 8, 1919, in Basile Louisiana, to Lezi and Celeste (Vedrine) Veronie. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro.

She was survived by children, Wilma Dean Perrilloux of Shreveport, Louisiana, Jean Clinton Johnson of Hillsboro, and Calvin Ray Johnson of Whitney; step-children, Ann Weurdig, Dew Weurdig and Arthur Weurdig all of Fort Worth; sister, Alicia Young of Basile, Louisiana; and numerous grandchildren.
