Maritan Jona Romero passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at the age of 56. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019, at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Basile. Burial will follow at Basile Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Mike Fontenot will officiate assisted by Maritan'nephews, Reverands Blake and Brock Hoffpauir. At the request of the family , visitation will begin on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Basile and will reopen on Friday at 10:00 AM until time of services. Maritan is survived by his father, Leonard Romero, two brothers; Manaen Romero and wife Becky, Mansual Romero, two sisters; Maggie Guillory and Marilyn Hoffpauir and husband Van. Maritan was preceded in death by his mother, Virgie Godeaux Romero and one brother; Davis Romero. Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of the arrangements
