James Franklin Campbell III

April 14, 1940 - April 21, 2021

James Franklin Campbell, III passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the age of 81. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata. Inurnment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery at a later date. James was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on April14, 1940.He was a true cowboy, always a man of his word. He never met a stranger and loved to share his countless stories with everyone. He accomplished many amazing things in his life, including rodeoing, becoming an instrument-rated pilot, teaching and traveling the world. But he was most proud of his family. He often said his wife Linda was his hero and his children were the greatest gift from God. He tried to live his life by the Golden Rule, treating others the way he wanted to be treated. In 2017, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, so we have no doubts that he is healthy and healed in the arms of our Lord, as well as finally reunited with his love, Linda. James is survived by two sons, Jeff Campbell and wife Kaki, Shannon Wiley and wife Nicole; one daughter, Pam Lacombe; two brothers, Herbert Latham, Jr., William Campbell; three sisters, Carolyn Stoddard and husband John, Linda Williams, Lisa Latham; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Linda Frey Campbell; his father, James F. Campbell, Jr.; his mother, Jeanette Chuites Latham; son in law, Michael Lacombe; two sisters, Natalie Campbell, Annette Campbell.
